Medical School Operations Assistant

University of Buckingham

The University of Buckingham has inaugurated the UKs first independent Medical School at its beautiful campus in the historic town of Buckingham. The first undergraduate students began their journey with us in January 2015.

We are creating an exciting opportunity for an Operations Assistant to join the busy Senior Management Office to meet new demands and strengthen our administrative team. The purpose of the role will be to support the Operations Manager with day-to-day office duties such as diary management, emails, taking minutes, telephone enquiries, meeting and greeting visitors and making travel arrangements.  In addition, the role includes supporting our activities in Student Selection, Medical School Open Days, Graduation, Induction Week and other events. The role requires an ability to liaise and interact appropriately with different people and functions across the University and externally.

This will be an interesting and varied role, where the area of work is responsive to the day to day needs and requirements of the Senior Managers and Operations Team and will require working outside of normal office hours occasionally.

The post holder will have worked as part of a team, have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, have a professional demeanour, good MS office skills and an ability to plan, prioritise and organise their own work.  An ability to record meeting minutes and work occasional flexible hours are essential.  Experience of working in Higher Education and/or have a medical background would be an advantage.
