Schools Liaison Officer

Full Time 3-year post

St Catharine's College, founded in 1473, is situated in the centre of Cambridge. The College is a centre of academic excellence, currently with a very high level of applications, flourishing also in sport, music and the arts. St Catharine’s is led by the Master, Professor Sir Mark Welland, and has some 70 fellows, 430 undergraduate and 200 graduate students.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic person to help with the recruitment of excellent applicants to St Catharine’s College and to maintain and develop our established initiatives to promote access to HE in schools and colleges in North Yorkshire, Suffolk and Rutland ; and with our partner schools in Cambridgeshire as part of the Connect to Cambridge scheme.

We are looking for a person who has worked in this field, has experience of the Cambridge undergraduate system, or has had recent experience of teaching and advising year 9-12 students. The successful candidate will need excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be self-motivated so that they can easily focus on a range of projects with target schools. The work will involve talking to a wide variety of student groups, teachers and careers advisors, and liaising with current undergraduates and staff in the College. Candidates must be prepared to work flexible hours, since the position will entail a considerable number of school visits.
