The Open University invites applications for full - and part-time Postdoctoral Fellowships in our suite of pathways within The Grand Union Doctoral Training Partnership.

Funding information

These Postdoctoral Fellowships are funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Grand Union Doctoral Partnership. The Fellowships are fully funded for 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time, covering tuition fees (at UK/EU level) and provides a stipend. Details can be found here:

Requirements of Candidate

You will have completed a PhD in a relevant subject. Eligibility criteria can be found on Pages 3-4 of the ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship call FAQS here:

The Pathway Leads will help put you in touch with a relevant mentor. Alternatively, if you already have a research mentor in mind, please contact them direct. A robust mentor arrangement is of critical importance in the application process. Applications must be submitted by 16:00 on 23 March 2018.

There will be a three stage process. First, you must apply to the relevant Pathway Lead. Once you have applied, the pathways will run a selection process to determine which Postdoctoral Fellows will be nominated for ESRC funding. In the final stage, there will be a DTP-wide competition to select who gets funding. There are three Fellowships available in this round. If you are not selected for support, yet your application is considered of an appropriate standard, it is possible that you might be nominated for other sources of funding.

Where appropriate, interviews for the first stage are likely to be in April 2018

Selection for the second stage are likely to be in June 2018.
