Salary: £29,799 to £38,833 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Part of HGI, The Ingenuity lab is the University of Nottingham’s centre for student and alumni entrepreneurship and innovation which is undergoing growth and major developments in its services and reach. As part of this expansion the Ingenuity Lab are inviting applications for the position of Witty Entrepreneurial Scholarships Manager, initially a three year fixed term post based within the Ingenuity Lab. 

Sir Andrew Witty, Chancellor of the University of Nottingham, has generously established a major new undergraduate scholarship programme to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation amongst students from low income backgrounds. The main focus of the role is to manage the recruitment, training and personal development of a minimum of 80 entrepreneurial scholars over 3 years and capture, evaluate and report the outcomes of the programme.

Reporting to the Head of the Ingenuity Lab, the post holder will coordinate activities, amongst the Witty scholarship recipients, to help them explore new career aspirations, develop their knowledge and understanding of entrepreneurship and innovation and create or join innovative businesses. The role holder will signpost scholars to the appropriate HGI entrepreneurship and innovation education offerings, work with the Labs finance and reporting processes as well as coordinate with the Labs facilities and services around the University.

Candidates should be professionally qualified or hold a relevant degree, plus have significant hands-on experience in similar or related roles (e.g. facilities management, events management or equivalent experience) or have a proven track record of relevant extensive work experience (as above), demonstrating deep, specialised and/or broad knowledge of a field of work gained through experience in a series of progressively more complex roles.

Candidates should also have some knowledge and experience of the entrepreneurship, innovation and business start-up processes, together with experience of funded projects, including budgetary controls and report writing. Excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills, together with a high level IT competency are also essential. Candidates should also be used to fast moving and dynamic working environments, dealing with early stage entrepreneurs and innovators. 

This full-time post is fixed-term for a period of 3 years with an extension subject to review.
