Job Overview:

We have an immediate opening for a Research Scientist / Senior Research Scientist who is keen to apply her/his modelling and simulation skills in model-based drug development. The candidate should have in depth knowledge and hands-on experience of developing physiologically based pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic models and/or life science modelling. Ideally these experiences should be in areas related to pharmacokinetics, biodistribution, and pharmacodynamics of biologics.

The successful candidate will join an internationally recognised, multidisciplinary research team, providing opportunities for further development of knowledge and skills. The successful candidate will undertake novel research projects to further expand the capabilities of the Simcyp Simulators which requires a high level of attention to detail, good oral and written communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with the software developers. Further, the successful candidate is expected to provide on-going customer support and education related to the use of the Simulators and to act as tutor on the Company’s well-known educational workshops. The post does not include routine laboratory or clinical work.

  • PhD or equivalent experience in pharmaceutical sciences, control or chemical engineering or related fields with several years of practical experience;
  • Hands on experience in developing biological and/or physiological PK/PD models;
  • Proven track record of publications in high impact factor journals;
  • Good working knowledge of common or specialised modelling and simulation platforms, such as Matlab, R, Phoenix, Simcyp, etc;
  • Excellent record of communication skills, as evident by presentation at scientific meetings, and good interpersonal and organizational skills.


  • Knowledge of in vitro in vivo extrapolation (IVIVE) techniques;
  • Experience in modelling of monoclonal antibodies and/or smaller proteins;
  • Knowledge of bioanalysis and biotransformation of peptides, proteins or other biologics.
