UEA has some of the most innovative and highly regarded centres for research in the UK. Applications are invited for the post of Senior Research Associate to undertake research in collaboration under the supervision of Dr Ben Milner and Dr Sarah Taylor in order to study methods for transforming audio speech into visual speech which is funded through an EPSRC Grant.

The aim of the project is to develop methods to estimate parameters of visual speech from audio speech that can be used to animate a character or facial representation.

The successful applicant will be involved in researching into methods to estimate visual speech parameters from audio speech parameters and conducting experiments, both objective and subjective, to evaluate their effectiveness. Key results of the research will be written up for conference and journal papers.

The research will be based at the University of East Anglia in the School of Computing Sciences.

You will have a minimum of a PhD in computing science, mathematics, engineering, or relevant subject and/or significant previous experience of independent research into speech processing; and be able to meet all the essential criteria set out in the Person Specification.

This full time post is available from 1 April 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter, for a fixed term period until 21 July 2018.
