Are you an enthusiastic Desktop Support Analyst looking for a new challenge where you will have the opportunity to support a large and diverse user base during a time of significant change?

Information Technology Services (ITS) is the central IT department for the University, serving and supporting almost 7000 users .The University is at the early stages of implementing a major new organisational structure that is service focused and enables innovation, creativity and business activities at the University.

The Role

You will be responsible for providing IT related support and technical advice to all University users including staff, students, academic partners and visitors. You will be able to resolve support requests whilst delivering excellent customer satisfaction and service delivery demands. This will be via a number of means including over the phone, via email and face to face support.

Reporting to the Campus IT Manager you will be a member of the local Campus IT Service Desk ensuring the delivery of a first class range of IT services for the local campus. You will help support the Campus IT Manager by adhering to ISO2000 and ITIL service management processes and be an ambassador for best practise and relationship building across this diverse user base.

Skills and Experience

You will:

  • Be educated to degree level or have equivalent relevant desktop support experience
  • Have an ITIL foundation certification or relevant experience working on an IT Service Desk
  • Be experienced in a customer facing technical support role
  • Demonstrate experience of managing Windows Desktop environment and Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems
  • Have experience of desktop/laptop/mobile device/hardware and software applications and network and server patching experience is advantageous
  • Demonstrate strong experience of troubleshooting, analysing and diagnosing technical problems
  • Have proven experience within a similar role working within a complex technical environment
  • Be flexible to travel to the other UCA sites when required

Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues from across the University with a range of technical abilities.
