Contract Type: Fixed term for 12 months  

The Role

The eight research teams based in Research and Information provide Members and their staff with impartial and confidential information. Our subject specialists produce research analysis, briefing papers and answer individual enquiries.

The Home Affairs Section covers a wide range of subjects including civil law, criminal justice, immigration, the media, licensing, security services, consumer affairs, gambling and arts.

This post is a generalist one, working closely with subject specialists.  The post holder may be called upon to answer enquiries or write briefing papers in any of the section’s subjects with support and supervision.

The Person

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • A keen interest in current affairs and UK public policy
  • An ability to research material from a range of sources and use it to present well argued, impartial analysis
  • Good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to explain complex information clearly and succinctly
  • At least a 2:2 degree in any discipline
