Grade 6
£25,728 to £29,799 per annum, with potential to progress to £32,548 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution

We have an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for either mechanical or electrical engineering. You will join the AMRC North West at inception and play a part in placing Lancashire amongst the most innovative regions in the UK.

You will work in a well-connected team with world-leading reputations in the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.

You will have a good grasp of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles, which will allow you to work as part of a team and contribute towards the development of high-efficiency manufacturing systems specific to battery packs.

In this varied and dynamic role, you will be responsible for undertaking various engineering duties in the day-to-day running of research projects as well as project scoping set up and delivery. You will be responsible for reporting progress to Technical Leads and develop areas of niche specialism in response to industrial requirements with the objective of building research themes and associated teams in these areas.

Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience), you will have an understanding of electrical and or mechanical engineering principles and experience in performing experimental work. As you will be responsible for the development of automated manufacturing methods, knowledge of digital manufacturing technologies including process monitoring and data collection, digitally assisted assembly technologies and digital work instructions would be an advantage.
