The Alumni and Development team at Henley Business School works to inspire, develop and engage the Henley Business School Alumni Community and secures support for Henley Business School’s development.

The Alumni and Development team is expanding and we seek to appoint a talented and experienced individual as our new Events Officer. This is an exciting time to join the team at Henley Business School, as we set out to achieve great impact to develop the Henley Business School community, increase our alumni’s sense of belonging to Henley Business School and develop Alumni impact to support Henley Business School development.

As our new Events Officer you will deliver events for the Henley Business School Events team in the delivery of a high quality, impactful programme of events – in the UK and internationally – targeted at the wider Henley Business School community (with a focus on alumni and students, donors and supporters and other networks of stakeholders).

Working alongside the Head of Events, the Events Officer and the Events Assistant, you will be responsible for direct delivery of events within this team, on Henley Business School campuses, as well as in London, the wider UK and internationally.

The events programme includes a wide variety of event activities and the role will support the Head of Events and includes event coordination, on-the-day delivery as well as post-event follow up.

N.B. This role is based at the Greenlands campus of the University of Reading, located to the north-east of Reading, between Henley-on-Thames and Marlow, although the post holder will be required to travel to the two Reading campuses in Whiteknights and London Road. Your own transport is recommended as public transport to and from the Greenlands campus is limited.

You will have:

  • Confidence to lead and report on events projects.
  • Proven administrative and organisational skills.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a good working relationship with event stakeholders inside Henley Business School, the wider university and externally.
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels.
  • High level of cultural awareness.
  • Excellent computing skills e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Database administration skills.
  • Ability to manage a project budget and the ability to work with and manipulate figures.
  • Be able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision.
