Centre Manager (CANES Centre for Doctoral Training)

King's College London

The EPSRC funded Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Cross-disciplinary Approaches to Non-Equilibrium Systems (CANES) was established in 2014. The Centre Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the CDT, supporting its teaching and research. The Centre Manager will provide administrative support for the integrated MSc and PhD programme, manage the Centre’s events, marketing and day-to-day finance and estates matters, and support the Director in the preparation of bids, reports and statistical data.

The successful candidate should have experience of administrative work in a busy office environment, ideally within the Higher Education sector, or similar. They should be well organised and able to work independently, proactively and flexibly, understanding complex situations quickly and providing creative solutions while dealing with a wide variety of people in a professional and assured manner.

The position would be a good opportunity for someone with experience of programme administration or general departmental administration, to gain wider experience of education support alongside finance, funding and reporting.

The salary will be paid at Grade 5, £28,098 to £32,548 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be Fixed Term Contract for 23 months. At the end of the 23 month contract the role will reduce to a 0.5 FTE role for a further 3 years (subject to the relevant approvals). The successful candidate may continue in the role should they agree to the reduced contract hours.

The selection process will include competency based questions, an assessment and a panel interview.

Interviews are scheduled to be held the week commencing: 12 February 2018.
