About The Role

The UK Collaboratorium on Research in Infrastructure & Cities (UKCRIC – www.ukcric.com) has been established to enable the UK to develop a world class national infrastructure research capability to inform the UK’s infrastructure development agenda. STFC, one of the seven research councils in the UK with world-renown track records in building, delivering and operating large science facilities, is responsible for the construction and delivery programme for the Data Analytics Facility for National Infrastructure (DAFNI), one of the three strands of UKCRIC with an investment of £8M.

The aim of DAFNI is to provide new data intensive hardware and software platform to accelerate significant new advances in infrastructure system modelling, simulation and visualisation research. DAFNI is the first of its kind in the UK and globally dedicated to complex infrastructure systems research using advanced computational techniques for the research community. The community is multidisciplinary by nature, comprising of disciplinary specialists from geography, civil engineering, scientific computing and environment science and engineering. The DAFNI consortium is led by University of Oxford and comprises of 12 founding members, including STFC.

To enable DAFNI to be a sustainable valued asset, we are looking for a Partnership Manager to lead the partnership programme development, engaging with a wider range of academia and industry partners beyond the initial composition. You will be working closely with the DAFNI Project Director and project governance board, strengthening the existing partnership as well as shaping the trajectory of the expanding partnership programme for DAFNI. 

Duties of the role will include:

  • Designing, implementing and managing DAFNI’s partnership programme
  • Exploring and analysing options for DAFNI’s future funding sustainability
  • Delivering externally facing meetings, workshops and conferences
  • Organising and coordinating the co-production of DAFNI deliverables with partners
  • Organising and coordinating the validation, testing and uptake of DAFNI
  • Developing communication materials and channels to  implement shared communication strategies
  • Reporting progress to the relevant management boards
  • Managing and coordinating the work of DAFNI’s administration support, contractors and third-party service providers for the production of communication materials
  • Managing preparation of DAFNI related proposals and coordination with affiliated projects
  • Representing the DAFNI Project Director in external meetings as required.

About You

You must be educated to a degree level or equivalent professional experience.

You will have experience of working with multi-party initiatives and experience of delivering written reports, videos, newsletters, websites and other digital communications, including social media.

It is essential that you have also had involvement of event planning, coordination and execution.

Experience of working cross the boundaries with academia, business and government is also essential for this role.

A science or engineering background plus knowledge of product management, experience of producing grant proposal submission or securing private funding and experience of line management and management of contractors would be beneficial but is not essential.
