Postdoctoral Research Fellow

King's College London - Data Analytics for Finance and Macro (DAFM) Research Centre, King’s Business School

The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £33,518 - £39,992 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be Fixed Term Contract for 12 months in the first instance, with possibility to extend.

We seek a flexible, collaborative and technically adept Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Data Analytics for Finance and Macro (DAFM) Research Centre at King’s Business School. DAFM (to be formally launched in April 2018) aims to promote rigorous analysis in finance and macroeconomics using advanced and theoretically rigorous quantitative methods considering the continuously changing economy and society, as well as the use of complex and large datasets. Areas of relevance include central banks and public statistical agencies, financial markets and firm behaviour. A further focus is to use such methods to promote scenario and interval forecasting that explicitly incorporate the need to account for risk and uncertainty.

The Fellow will play a key role in the research of DAFM. The successful applicant will have research experience in big data analytics and time series forecasting, as well as very strong software programming skills in R language. Applicants should also have a keen interest in economics and finance, however it is not necessary to be an economics or finance graduate. The fellow will benefit from the close interaction with the members of the Economics and the Banking & Finance groups of King’s Business School.
