An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and professional individual to join the small team that supports the Vice-Chancellor in all aspects of her work. The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive of the University, and her office is high-profile and public-facing, handling an exceptionally wide range of business, much of which is confidential and/or of a time-sensitive nature. The postholder will be working in a dynamic, fast-paced office, and have a key role to play in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day business. The post requires a high level of discretion, and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a small team.

Duties will include supporting the Vice-Chancellor’s PA in all aspects of their work, and deputising in their absence. The postholder will make administrative and logistical arrangements for events attended by the Vice-Chancellor and liaise closely with staff supporting the Chancellor, Registrar and the University’s Pro-Vice-Chancellors as well as other senior members of the University. S/he will also research, collate and circulate briefings and other papers, and act as a first point of contact in the office for students, staff and visitors by phone, email and in person.

Applicants should have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as highly-developed administrative and interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude.

This role is being offered on a full-time basis however part-time applications will also be considered. Please note the successful candidate must be able to provide cover during the hours of 09:00 - 13:00 each day.
