Research Fellow: Hardware Constrained MIMO Antenna Beamforming

Applications are invited for a 12 month postdoctoral position commencing on or before 1 May 2018 to work on a new exciting project “Informed RF for 5G and Beyond” in collaboration with the University of Surrey 5G Innovation Centre.

The project will be conducted at the Institute of Electronics, Communications and Information Technology (ECIT), Queen’s flagship Global Research Institute. The University is part of the Russell Group of the UK’s 24 leading research intensive universities.

The successful candidate must:

  • Hold or be about to obtain (within six months) a PhD in a relevant subject.
  • Have at least a 2.1 undergraduate’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Have three years’ relevant research experience
  • Have at least two years’ relevant experience of the design and measurement of MIMO antennas and beamforming architectures.
  • Have experience with ADS, EM simulators (Momentum, e.g. CST, FEKO).
  • Have experience in conducting measurements and characterisations of RF/Microwave circuits and antennas.
  • Have a publication record in line with stage of career in prestigious leading journals (e.g. IEEE AP, MTT, IET MAP) and presentations at major international conferences (e.g. IMS, EUMC).

Salary scale: £32,548 - £37,706 per annum
