Start Date: September 2018

The Amar-Franses and Foster-Jenkins Trust Scholarship

The Amar-Franses and Foster-Jenkins Trust Scholarship supports a student on the MSc in Climate Change offered by the School of Environmental Sciences.

We are a diverse community of practitioners, scholars and academics who teach, research, and provide professional development. Our postgraduate students come from a wide variety of geographical and personal backgrounds, and it is the vibrant and dynamic community which they create that completes the student experience.

Since its foundation in 1967, UEA’s School of Environmental Sciences has become one of the largest and most fully developed interdisciplinary institutions of its kind in Europe.  The School provides a stimulating, innovative and active research environment for the study of natural and human environments.  In the Research Excellence Framework exercise in 2014 (REF 2014), we were ranked first in the UK for the global impact of our research.

The University will be awarded a Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education for 50 years of ground-breaking environmental science at UEA. The Royal accolade from the queen is the UK’s most prestigious higher education award, given to us for demonstrating outstanding work at a world-class level. Watch our video to find out some of the impact UEA has made over the past 50 years.

In the next 50 years, the School has dedicated itself to pursuing fundamental interdisciplinary environmental science research that directly addresses the grand environmental challenges of the 21st century

The Amar-Franses and Foster-Jenkins Trust Scholarship is worth £7,000, available as a tuition fee discount or as a maintenance grant.
