Full-time fixed term contract for 1 year.

In this role you will work as a key member of the Leicester Mesothelioma Research Programme and will be responsible for the coordination and conduct of internal and external research work and collaborative projects.

Your key areas of responsibility will be the collection and compilation of accurate and up to date data for patients on all phases of clinical trials within the disease area of cancer, assisting with obtaining human samples and conducting experiments and performing clinical procedures such as patient consent, taking bloods, blood pressure monitoring and cannulation.

You will assist in the delivery of a high quality research service in accordance with the International Conference of Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH- GCP) by working with relevant Investigators and research teams to facilitate arrangements and ensure systems are in place for the smooth conduct of projects within the host environment and establish systems, processes and relationships which will support the collection of high quality samples and accompanying data sets.

As the ideal candidate you will be have significant experience in the research field and in coordinating clinical trials. You must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, guidance and standards, such as the Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care and Good Clinical Practice.
