Grade 9: £46,336 - £53,691 with a discretionary range to £58,655 p.a. (discretionary market supplement up to £64,000 p.a.)

We are looking for a Group Leader with research interests in statistical and computational analysis and integration of genome-scale data to build a research program relating to cancer biology. You will be educated to PhD level or equivalent in a quantitative science with research experience in academia or industry.

As Group Leader, you will have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to deliver high-quality novel research, for example through journal publications, patents and other IP or authoring widely-used software.

You will have a background in a quantitative discipline, such as mathematics, statistics, engineering or computer science, and experience in the analysis of high-dimensional data. Knowledge of cancer genomics, proteomics, imaging or other high-throughput biomedical data would be an advantage, but we also encourage applications from individuals from different research domains or non-academic backgrounds interested in applying their skills to new challenges.

With mentorship from senior group leaders within LICR and the BDI you will develop an effective, productive research group, supervise postgraduate researchers and graduate students and collaborate with other members of the BDI, LICR and the wider Oxford community. Therefore, an understanding of how to lead a successful research programme and develop new avenues of research is important. In addition to your salary, funds will be available to establish a small research group.

You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement which explains how you meet the selection criteria for the post.

Only applications received before 12.00 noon on 7 February 2018 will be considered.

Closing Date: 07-FEB-2018 12:00
