Student Journey has four departments within the Directorate (Academic Services, Customer Liaison, Library Services and Special Collections and Student Services). This post is within Academic Services who own the student record lifecycle from cradle to grave. The department aims to create and maintain a high-quality, accurate set of information on each student that can be used to effectively manage their application, initial and subsequent enrolments, assessment outcomes, progression and conferral of awards throughout their studies.

The Student Systems and Returns team forms part of the Student Systems and Information Section within Academic Services. We are seeking to recruit an Officer within the Student Systems and Returns team. Reporting to the Manager of the team you will contribute to the sustainability and growth of the University through ensuring that data is correctly and consistently recorded on the Student Records System (SITS) in order to provide accurate and timely reporting to external agencies e.g. Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).

Additionally you will be responsible for the maintenance of the student record system, co-ordinate testing of new releases of SITS and ensuring that accurate course and module based information is held on SITS.

You will also contribute to the positive experience and successful outcomes for students by providing support and guidance to staff on the use of SITS in respect of the Student Journey.

You should have excellent IT and analytical skills with previous experience working with databases and systems, proficient in maintaining data and the ability to work with large and complex datasets. Additionally you should be highly organised with a good eye for detail, have an understanding of the HE environment and a ‘can do’ attitude.
