Purpose and Main Duties

We are looking for a Team Leader (Examinations and Assessment) to assist the Assistant Registrar (Examinations and Assessment) to ensure that the examinations run smoothly and efficiently.

The post holder will manage and supervise a team of Examinations and Assessment Officers.

The post holder is responsible for a portfolio of responsibilities, including the appointment, training and supervision of a bank of c.100 invigilators; the planning of the yearly schedule of detailed operational tasks in setting of examination dates and booking of exam venues; providing advice and guidance on examination policy to staff and students; ensuring appropriate examination provision for students with disabilities.

Candidate Requirements

You should be educated to at least degree standard or equivalent, with relevant experience in a responsible role and significant experience of SITS student record systems or equivalent.

To be successful in the role you will be required to adopt a flexible approach to work and a willingness to become involved in setting up new administrative processes as well as supporting teams.

As an experienced multi-tasker, you will have excellent organisational, communication and IT skills and the ability to define priorities for yourself and your team. You will be able to work flexibly and effectively across a range of projects to meet demanding deadlines. You will also be required to demonstrate an understanding of the current issues and trends within the HE sector.

Further Information

Salary: Grade 6 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £32,586 rising to £37,169 per annum.

This post is full time, 35 hours per week (1.0 FTE) and open-ended. The salary quoted above is on the College's London Pay Scale and includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the Greater London area. The initial salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment is subject to a probationary period of 6 months.
