Associate Director of HR (Organisational Development)

Lancaster University

Lancaster University is one of the UK’s top universities, ranked well in the top 10 across all major tables, and is currently University of the Year in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide.

The HR function consists of over 50 colleagues who provide a broad range of HR, OD, Health & Safety and Educational Development services to the University. These services are provided to circa 3400 employees, with some based overseas.

As an expert in your field, this role offers a real opportunity for you to shape and implement the OD strategy here at Lancaster University, and make a direct contribution to further improving the University’s reputation both nationally and globally. With your passion for Equality and Inclusion, and firm belief in the value of employee wellbeing & engagement, you will also lead these strategically important agendas and be able to demonstrate the added value they offer.

You will bring energy to the role with your engaging style and personal gravitas, used to inspire, motivate and influence people at all levels of the organisation and make an impact. The concept of supporting all our staff the best we can comes naturally to you, so from the outset you are in a strong position to help drive the further implementation of the People Strategy. Playing a key leadership role within the HR function, you will role model advanced OD techniques and coach others to adopt project management approaches to managing transformational change programmes. You are a natural team player and with your experience in building and leading strong, delivery focused teams, along with your excellent communication skills, you will build rapport and commitment quickly, so we can continue the excellent progress that has been made so far.

In return, this role presents genuinely exciting opportunity for an experienced OD professional to further their career within an ambitious and prosperous organisation, which truly values its people.

Informal questions regarding the post should be directed to the Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development via Anthony Chamberlain

The Associate Director of HR (Organisational Development) will be appointed through an assessment centre and selection process. It is intended this process will take place in early-mid February 2018.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
