Salary (Grade S4): £19,850 per annum plus £2,166 London Weighting per annum

Inspire is looking for an enthusiastic, personable, positive and diligent communicator to be the ‘face of Inspire’ managing the reception area, social media and external communications and to occasionally support the department’s administrative work.

The post holder will be responsible for staffing the reception every day with the support of Inspire colleagues. The main duties are to greet visitors to Inspire and act as the first point of contact for all visitors, whilst setting up and raising our profile on social media and taking bookings. The role involves having a good understanding of the services that Inspire offers to schools, learners, students, the University and employers so that bookings can be made appropriately and contacts made. The post holder will also be responsible for keeping the reception area clean and tidy so that it is an attractive introduction to Inspire, and the whole newly refurbished Wilfred Brown Building. A small part of the duties involves supporting Inspire colleagues in undertaking administrative duties.

Vitally, you should enjoy meeting people as well as having experience in customer service and administration. You will also have a broad understanding of education and be confident in dealing with a wide range of visitors and learners to the department. You are expected to have good IT skills and Social Media know how as well as experience of using administrative systems to enable you to work effectively. You are expected to make an active contribution to the wider strategy of Inspire which is in its infancy thus you have the opportunity to develop permanent long term solutions and operations.

A DBS check will be essential for this post as you will be working within a facility for children.
