The subject areas that comprise the Social Sciences (Criminology, Philosophy, Politics and International Relations, Sociology and Social Work) within the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences are seeking to appoint a Professor to conduct research and provide leadership that aligns with the Faculty’s research strategy.

About the role:

This post offers an exciting opportunity to work within the interdisciplinary Department of Health and Social Sciences and make a major contribution to the development of the department's growing profile in research, teaching and community engagement. We believe research is central to everything we do. We have a vibrant research culture, including a Social Sciences Research Group that effectively represents our research across the disciplines.

About you:

You will be strongly anchored within a particular subject group that aligns with your primary area of research. However, you will also play a key role in promoting, leading and implementing inter-disciplinary and integrated research across the Social Sciences.

You will be eligible for the REF and you will have a substantial national and international record demonstrating subject expertise, excellence and achievement.

You will be able to show a strong track record and ongoing achievement of: successful bidding for external research funding; producing high quality contributions to knowledge in terms of your published work; and leading research development initiatives.

Salary details:

UWE Bristol operates a competitive Professorial Performance and Reward Scheme with a salary range of £60,173 - £86,889. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
