Admissions and Student Support Officer

We are seeking applications for an Admissions and Student Support Officer in the School of Mathematics and Statistics. The School of Mathematics and Statistics and the Department of Physics and Astronomy have a joint professional administrative support service, which provides dedicated support in all areas of learning and teaching, operations and research to staff, students and visitors across both departments.

Working within the Learning and Teaching team you will be responsible for a range of duties related to providing an excellent experience to all our applicants and students, including:

  • Providing administrative support for all aspects of undergraduate admissions activities, including organising recruitment activities and supporting initiatives
  • Be the main point of contact for all undergraduate admissions enquiries
  • Responsibility for online module choice processes
  • Managing the production of student related materials
  • Organising intro week activities

You will be educated to A level standard or hold equivalent qualifications or work experience, and have substantial administrative experience, preferably within a Higher Education environment. You will also have the following skills:

  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to act with discretion and diplomacy to deal with confidential queries/ materials.
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems
  • Prioritising and organisational skills, along with the ability to work autonomously.
