Full time starting salary is normally in the range £26,495 to £28,936. With potential progression once in post to £32,548 a year.

The post-holder is responsible for providing executive and communications support to both the Director and Business Manager of the Institute for Mental Health (IMH). The post-holder must have the ability to work in a busy environment and cope with conflicting demands as the position requires a significant amount of initiative and personal responsibility.

The role will involve liaison with the IMH Business Manager, College/University Officers and internal and external agencies. The working relationship between the Executive and Communications Officer and the IMH Director is of paramount importance to the success of the Institute and its efficient operation. The post-holder will deal with people at all levels of University staff and students.

The post-holder will be involved in gathering and collating information on specific projects to be reviewed by both the IMH Director and Business Manager, developing and managing complex and administrative information systems and proactively ensuring that the work is successfully completed to deadline.

The post-holder will manage the internal and external communications in the Institute, particularly in relation to research and education. The post-holder will use their communications expertise to raise the profile of the Institute, and will be responsible for implementing elements of the College communications strategy in conjunction with the College Marketing and Communications Team.
