Fixed term for 12 months

Full time starting salary is normally in the range £29,799 to £38,832. With potential progression once in post to £41,212 a year.

The University’s International Strategy and Strategic Plan place great emphasis on the recruitment of international students and development of strategic international partnerships.

This purpose of the role is to support the Regional Manager (region to be confirmed) to initiate, plan and execute recruitment strategies, develop and maintain brand awareness and, maintain key relationships and identify development opportunities for the University of Birmingham in key markets within the designated regions.

The post-holder will be required to develop a good understanding of markets within the identified regions and have the flexibility to undertake a broad range of activities as directed by the Regional Manager. The post holder will have key responsibility for recruitment in China market.

The post-holder will be required to travel extensively, often for long periods of time and including weekends and bank holidays. The post-holder must be able to operate effectively and autonomously under these circumstances. 

Please note that it is a condition of appointment that International Officers will be expected to accept a different set of markets if the University’s International Strategy and International Relations activities and staffing changes significantly. Changes to portfolio of markets will be made in consultation.
