If you have supervisory experience in a cafe/bar, enthusiasm when dealing with a diverse range of customers on a daily basis, are flexible regarding your hours of work and thrive on providing great customer service then our role of Cafe Bar Supervisor is for you.

Working at the Gulbenkian at the University of Kent you will assist the Café Bar Manager in the supervision and delivery of an efficient and high quality café bar service in a vibrant, family friendly entertainment arts venue. This will include the supervision of a busy bar and set up of Café Live performances.

You will undertake all aspects of stock and cash control, assisting in the service of food and drink and working closely with kitchen colleagues to deliver a first-class dining experience.

You will supervise junior and casual team members on a daily basis, so supervisory experience and team leadership skills are essential.

You will need to remain calm and efficient in a busy environment, providing excellent customer service at all times.

As Cafe Bar Supervisor you will:

Deliver the Gulbenkian customer values, “Welcoming & engaging everybody, behaving professionally & keeping informed, staying attentive and taking the initiative” to all of our visitors including University staff, students, Gulbenkian ticket holders, visiting artists and our expanding family audience.

Supervise and maintain high standards of service delivery, safety, hygiene, security, personal discipline and compliance with legislative requirements.

Be responsible for cash tills, cashless card transactions and reconciliation of monies, whilst supervising daily functions and events, providing an exceptional level of customer service at all times and supervising a casual team.
