We have the opportunity to appoint an outstanding candidate with a high degree of professionalism to the Research Grant Development Team. The successful candidate will help us to meet our goal of increasing our research funding and delivering high quality support to our academic staff.

The purpose of this role is to facilitate new research opportunities for the University of Bath, leading to the submission of grant applications which would not have been realised without your input. This will necessitate an in-depth knowledge of relevant funders, such as: UK Research & Innovation (particularly the Research Councils), Learned Societies, charitable organisations, and the European Commission. The role-holder will grow the quality and ambition of funding applications, provide hands-on support to strategic projects and embed good practice in research grant development throughout the University.

Our research grant development activities are currently undergoing a radical transformation. Informed by the UK Industrial Strategy, regional priorities and our research expertise our professional support is being focused into areas such as sustainable technologies, digital innovation, advanced engineering, therapeutic innovation, and clean energy. Ideally, you will have an Engineering or Physical Sciences research background to enable you to support key initiatives and research groups in these areas.

The post is part-time (14.6 hours per week) and is being offered on a permanent basis.
