Business Analyst Operational Development Student Team (ODS)

Salary: £32,548 to £35,550 pa with potential to progress to £38,833 pa on achieving designated skills and experience

Grade: UH7

FTE: Full time position working 37 hours per week (1 FTE)

Duration of Contract: Permanent. Proposed start- mid Feb 2018

Academic Registry is a busy, dynamic, multi-functional department.  We need a skilled, enthusiastic and pro-active person to join our Operational Development Student (ODS) team in supporting the Quercus Student Records System. The ODS team’s role is to ensure that the University gets the best value from it’s Quercus Student Records System. The team co-ordinates software upgrades, investigates new functionality and supports the University business leads in making the best use of the Student Records System to support business processes. The work will be carried out in the context of the business imperatives of the University, a changing HE environment, and changing government regulations.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven in depth knowledge of Higher Education Student Records keeping from either an advanced user and /or IT perspective
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Understanding of testing processes and controlled management of software. Proven ability to work to fixed deadlines and practical understanding of business risk assessment. Understanding of the complexities of working with ‘out-of-the-box’ IT systems
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of teams/ people both internal and external to the organisation
  • First degree or relevant and equivalent work experience and proven IT experience at an appropriate level that is unlikely to have been achieved in less than two years.
