Salary: £28,936 to £32,548 per annum together with USS pension

Location: This position will be based at the Bay Campus

The College of Engineering moved in 2015 to the University’s Bay Campus which currently has 5 engineering buildings (with more development on the way), holding 30,000cm2 of laboratory and office space and over £10 million of research and teaching equipment. These buildings include Engineering Central, Engineering East, Institute Structural Materials (ISM), Energy Safety Research Institute (ESRI) and the Active Classroom (the UK’s first energy positive classroom). Alongside a portfolio of accredited degree programmes in both traditional and emerging Engineering and Sports Science disciplines, the College remains focused on upholding their excellent reputation in research, for which they are in the Top 10 in the UK (REF), and in maintaining and growing their outstanding links with industry.

The Marketing section of MRID is a high performing collaborative team working to maintain and enhance the University’s brand and reputation by developing and implementing a competitive marketing strategy which leads the University in all markets. We are looking to appoint a Marketing Officer to support the team of marketing professionals by using their skills and knowledge to develop marketing campaigns and provide services to drive forward a marketing culture across the University to underpin the University’s strategic objectives of improving student recruitment and showcasing the University’s research and commercial achievements.

  • Demonstrable evidence of taking pride in delivering professional services and solutions
  • Ability to work together in an environment of equality, trust and respect to deliver services that strive to exceed the needs and expectations of customers
  • Demonstrable evidence of providing a caring approach to all of your customers ensuring a personalised and positive experience


  • A degree and relevant work experience.


  • Experience in developing and delivering integrated marketing plans, tailoring these according to a wide range of target audiences.
  • Experience of engaging staff, working across several departments and at all levels to achieve successful outcomes in line with marketing aims.
