Building Services Maintenance & Plumbing Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Maintenance technician with experience of plumbing to join our in-house Building Services team. Working as part of the team, the duties of the role include monitoring key plant and equipment, responding to breakdowns, conducting minor plumbing and building repairs/alterations and carrying out a range of routine and planned maintenance and minor building works as directed. Ideally, the successful candidate will be competent and knowledgeable in the operation of general water, Air Handling Units, heating plant and softened and deionised water services.

The role-holder must be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude to work, and good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills are also essential. You must also be able to deal with a wide range of people, prioritise the work, work to deadlines and use your initiative.

Experience of working in a maintenance environment is desirable and further training and development requirements will be taken into consideration. Ideally candidates should either hold an industry recognised qualification (eg., BTEC National certificate, City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent) or be working towards one of these qualifications.
