King's College London - London Office with a Cross-university Remit

Grade 8, £50,618 – £60,410 per annum, plus £2,923 London Weighting Allowance per annum.

This post will be offered on an Indefinite Contract.

This is a Full time position (35 hours per week).

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join King’s College London as Director, London Strategy & Planning.

King's has identified London as a strategic priority in its Vision to 2029 and the Assistant Principal (London) provides leadership across the university to implement and deliver the university-wide London strategy, which aims to:

  • Strengthen our connections with London’s businesses, policy makers, agencies and institutions.
  • Deepen our relationships with our home boroughs, connecting the global to the local in support of the communities around us.
  • Partner effectively across the capital’s broader HE community to address London-wide issues.

The Director, London Strategy & Planning works to the Assistant Principal (London) to implement, monitor, evaluate, report and communicate King’s London strategy.

The role holder is responsible for maintaining and managing networks and relationships that will ensure success of the strategy; working closely with faculties to support and enable their priorities for London; adding value to existing activities and leading on new cross-university London initiatives where appropriate, including King’s Local Partners; identifying potential sources of support; and representing the strategy and the Assistant Principal internally and externally in London.

The role holder heads up a small London office that supports the implementation and delivery of the London strategy and works in partnership with faculty-based leads as well as key professional services staff contributing to the success of the strategy.

This is a high profile role requiring a range of skills and will suit applicants with experience of strategic planning, partnership development, relationship management, and policy expertise.

The selection process will include competency based questions, a short presentation (to be submitted in advance) and a panel interview.
