This role will provide the support required to exploit the technologies within WMG and those being developed across the University, delivering practical and technical support to academics, administration staff and students in their innovative use of technology enhanced learning. In doing so, the post holder will develop, test, deliver, and maintain a broad range of bespoke electronic resources, websites and applications supporting the development and implementation of IT Projects, as well as supporting students and staff in the use of electronic resources and websites.
The Web Developer will act as the first point of contact in the administration and development of departmental systems including SharePoint, Moodle, MyDay and other web based applications, including the organisation and administration of the production and workflow to ensure effective service delivery.
The Web Developer will work closely with WMG IT colleagues and wider WMG staff in order to enhance the online teaching material by designing and developing multimedia applications, systems and products that entertain, educate, persuade or inform the user. Using their expertise in PHP the post-holder will contribute to online development and implementation of teaching materials, applications, and tools to produce high quality, accessible online content complying with agreed format, standards and templates.
