As part of the continuing improvement in the delivery of Catering Services to Students and Conference Guests across all catered colleges and catering outlets, Durham University is seeking to recruit a Chef.

Working as part of a professional team, post-holders will be expected to produce high quality food for students, staff and commercial clientele and for a range of events and functions. They will be expected to strive for complete customer satisfaction within the established standards and operational controls, and to work flexibly in line with business demands.

The post-holder will be working 35 hours per week, in line with the working time directive; flexibility required five days out of seven to include evenings and weekends (five working days will be set in advance). Premium rates will be paid for working on rest days and if there is a requirement to work overtime beyond 37 hours in a given week.
