Academic Representation Manager

Reading University Students’ Union (RUSU) is looking to recruit an Academic Representation Manager to build upon our current academic representation success and continue to develop an impact focused approach to academic representation. This role oversees the work of the Representation team and develops strategies to innovate and enhance the student experience to ensure RUSU continues to be recognised as the representative channel between students and the University of Reading.

This role will take a lead role in supporting Academic Reps and other students involved in quality processes. You will develop effective partnerships with key stakeholders and work closely with the elected Education Officer and the Advice & Representation Manager.

We are looking for a friendly and approachable individual with an excellent track record and a keen interest in working with students as well as an understanding of the key issues affecting students in higher education.

The role will involve:

  • Development and delivery of academic representation
  • Managing and developing the Academic Representation Co-ordinators
  • Supporting elected representatives
  • Support reward and recognition initiatives
  • Support student engagement in quality assurance processes
  • Responsibility for operational matters

Previous experience of the following is required:

  • Studying or working in higher education sector
  • Working with or supporting any of the following: volunteers, student representatives, student groups or elected representatives
  • Undertaking administrative duties
  • Managing multiple tasks and a diverse workload
  • Building relationships at all levels within an organisation
  • Working effectively on own initiative
  • Developing, planning and delivering training to others
  • Excellent organizational skills
