Faculty Position in Politics and International Relations

The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies invites applications for a full-time faculty position on the professorial scale in its Politics and International Relations Program. The Doha Institute is a new independent institution for learning and research in the fields of Social Sciences, Humanities, Public Administration and Development Economics, Social Work & Psychology, and Conflict and Humanitarian Studies; it launched in October 2015. The Program of Political Science and International Relations at the Institute is a vibrant component of the Institute, with commitment to its ethos of excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring of student researchers.

The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Political Science. Applicants should have a broad theoretical and methodological training in political science, with preference given to candidates whose teaching and research focuses on the intersection of Comparative Politics and IR, and can teach courses on Research Methods (quantitative and qualitative). The ability to teach courses and supervise theses on Arab Gulf politics is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Arabic language and be able to conduct teaching and research in Arabic and English. The applicant must be a good team-worker and display good networking capabilities and skills.

The appointment is to commence September 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
