Salary: 400,000 RMB (around £45,000) per annum, excluding a benefit package of one round-trip international air ticket, insurance, free accommodation (a two-bedroom flat).

Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is a prestigious national key university in China and enjoys a high reputation in research and education in science, technology, and other areas of scholarship. It is one of the first Chinese universities to run a graduate school, and one of the national “Project 211” and “Project 985” universities received priority for development from the Chinese government. The School of International Education, BIT, started to deliver a four-year undergraduate BA (Hons) Accounting programme in association with Business Informatics, Systems and Accounting (BISA), Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK. The programme runs at BIT campus in Beijing with staff from both BIT and Henley Business School. Graduates from this programme will receive degrees and degree certificates from both BIT and the University of Reading.

We are seeking to appoint one Senior Lecturer in Accounting (teaching  & research) to join our academic team in Beijing. The appointee is expected to make a significant contribution to the academic teaching (including outreach activities) with associated responsibilities in administration and collaborative research. The teaching may include a combination of lecturing on various modules, seminars, workshops, tutorials, project/dissertation supervision at the undergraduate level, together with appropriate assessment and feedback in the area of accounting and financial management. Applications are welcome from candidates with professional experiences and academic practice in Accounting.

The salary will be 400,000 RMB (around £45,000) per annum. BIT will provide a benefit package including one round-trip international air ticket, insurance, free accommodation (a two-bedroom flat on Liangxiang campus of BIT). There may be some travel between the UK and China as required.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD or professional qualifications in Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Management, or closely related subjects from world prestigious universities.
  • Evidence of teaching professionally accredited International Corporate Financial Reporting, Advanced Financial Reporting, and Advanced Management Accounting, etc.
  • Demonstrable ideally three years’ full-time experience of teaching on undergraduate programmes at prestigious universities.
  • A strong record of publications in renowned academic periodicals.
  • Fluent English speaker.
  • A strong cultural understanding of working overseas, preferably in China (preferred).
