Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chemistry (Catalysis) Grade 7

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on depolymerisation of lignin with molecular catalysts. The project is funded by the Royal Society International Collaboration Awards, involving extensive collaboration between the University of Liverpool and Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP). Based primarily at Liverpool, you will have a PhD in Chemistry with high-level research skills in homogeneous catalysis, preferentially in biomass conversion, and an excellent background in organic and coordination or organometallic chemistry. You will synthesise metal complexes and identify lead catalysts against model lignin compounds at Liverpool, and exploit the catalyst for depolymerisation of authentic lignin at DICP. We particularly seek individuals who are interested in cutting edge interdisciplinary research and have excellent communication skills to work both independently and within a team. The post is available until 30 November 2020.
