Research Associate – Cancer Care

Hours: Part time (18.5 hours per week)

The School of Health Sciences wishes to appoint a Research Associate to support the research and knowledge transfer activities of Professor Kinta Beaver. The main research interests of Professor Beaver are survivorship related to cancer care.

The appointee will actively contribute to the day to day work of the cancer care research group. Activities will involve taking responsibility for writing sections of grant applications, drafting research publications, supervising postgraduate research students and developing (with the support of senior academics) a programme of work allied to the interests of the cancer care research group.

You will be educated to a minimum of Masters Level in a healthcare related subject. A PhD or Professional Doctorate qualification are not essential requirements, but would certainly be desirable. Possession of skills related to the research process is essential.

Experience, either in an academic or clinical setting, of working with patients diagnosed with cancer, is essential, supported by a demonstrable record of conducting research and knowledge of research design methodologies.

You must possess excellent communication skills; have an ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and show initiative and innovation. With a professional and flexible approach, you will have a commitment to the missions and values of the University.
