Research & Business Development Officer

The Research and Enterprise department is seeking to appoint a Research & Business Development Officer, Physical Sciences, to join our friendly and supportive team.

You will play a key role in helping the College deliver its strategy to identify and pursue opportunities to enhance and diversify its sources of income, developing high quality research, collaborations, consultancy and commercialisation projects, in the UK and world-wide.

You will have a strong background in Physical Sciences and an understanding of intellectual property issues for knowledge exchange activities, you will have previously worked in a graduate level, technical role in industry or academia.

This post will be focussed on liaising closely with academics of the department of Physics.  Working with staff in the new £8.0 million nanofabrication Centre for Superconducting Quantum Systems (SuperFab) based at the college. The role will also involve working with academic staff in the departments of Geography and Earth Sciences. In this role, you will be expected to manage and support the development of funding applications, seeking industrial projects, assist in the management of existing collaborations and the identification, protection and exploitation of Intellectual Property.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to manage a complex project portfolio, display a highly entrepreneurial and “can do” attitude and be proactive while working to demanding deadlines.

This is a full time and permanent post, available from April 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. This post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
