Research Associate – Sensors

Duration: Fixed-term for 12 months

We are seeking applications for a research associate position in the research group of Dr Ruchi Gupta in the School of Chemistry. The post holder will be required to develop and test an optical label-free sensor for disease diagnostics.

The School of Chemistry has a vibrant, supportive and highly collaborative research environment. The research in the School of Chemistry is focused around three interdisciplinary and outward facing themes – Chemistry for Healthcare Technologies, Materials Chemistry and Energy, and Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery. In REF 2014, 95% of the School’s submitted research outputs were rated as ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.

The post holder should have completed a PhD in physical sciences, engineering or related disciplines. He/ she should have good analytical abilities and hands-on experience in a laboratory environment. The post holder must be driven to publish in leading international journals and/or at conferences.
