Research Fellow in Patient Safety

We are seeking to appoint a researcher to our new Yorkshire & Humber Patient Safety Translational Research Centre, to contribute to an exciting and challenging programme, as part of a dynamic team. You will work primarily in the Safe Use of Medicines (SUM) theme, collaborating with colleagues in the Digital Innovations and Patient Involvement themes. You will work alongside other senior researchers from different disciplines to contribute to the development of research evidence to inform the development and testing of patient safety interventions. 

The post-holder will work with research colleagues in the new Yorkshire & Humber Patient Safety Translational Research Centre to develop and conduct research. This exciting programme of research was recently funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The post-holder will work alongside other senior researchers in undertaking participant (patient/staff) recruitment, data collection, analysis and follow-up, and will contribute to the development of research evidence to inform the development and testing of patient safety interventions. You will work primarily in the Safe Use of Medicines (SUM) theme, collaborating with colleagues in the Digital Innovations and Patient Involvement themes on: 'Deciding to Deprescribe' and a 'Safe Medicines Alert'. You will be enthusiastic and committed to the development of high-quality research and will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team-working abilities.

You will have a PhD in a health research related discipline and ideally some post-doctoral experience. You will be a strong team player, with experience of collecting, analysing and interpreting primary/secondary data, excellent organisational abilities and strong communication skills.
