The College of Environment at Hohai University was founded in 1978. The College is one of the most established institutions for environmental education and research in China. Environmental disciplines based in the college have been approved as one of key disciplines in Jiangsu province, key disciplines of "211 project" and national key disciplines since 2001.

The College aims to track the latest development trends and frontiers of environmental disciplines, meet the security strategy of national water and ecological civilization, and foster top-level talents in dealing with water environmental protection, water pollution control and ecological restoration. The college is developing into the first-class research base and platform of solving major scientific problems, first-class innovative talent training, transformation of independent innovation achievements and international cooperation. The college also values the importance of the development of teaching staff and building of a talent echelon with wide and comprehensive professional coverage. All full-time teachers own doctoral degrees, and junior teachers all have an overseas educational background.

The position of professor, associate professor or lecturer will be appointed depending on your level of experience and qualifications.

We are searching for creative and innovative scholars in the field of environmental engineering, environmental science, and municipal engineering with a demonstrated research record. The successful candidates will also be committed to high-quality undergraduate and graduate teaching, including a demonstrated ability or potential in teaching and mentoring students.

All candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree related to environmental engineering, environmental science, and municipal engineering, or other related fields.

  • Senior candidates must be established leaders in their field with developed excellent research programs and demonstrate strong research and teaching experience.
  • Mid-career candidates should demonstrate strong records of publication and funded research, and participation in collaborations.
  • Early-career candidates with postdoctoral training and overseas experience are preferred and should demonstrate excellent academic credentials, strong research plan and an ability to teach.

The position comes with a competitive salary according to the special talent policy. The detailed salary and start-up research fund is negotiable. Family allowance and purchase subsidies will be granted. Outstanding scholars will be recommended as the candidate for One-Thousand-Talent Program, ChangJiang Scholarship, or National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists.

Salary: The annual salary depends on the level of appointment

For the role of lecturer, an annual salary before tax ranges from RMB120,000 to 200,000+.
For the role of associate professor, an annual salary before tax ranges from RMB250,000 to 300,000+.
For the role of professor, an annual salary before tax ranges from RMB260,000 to 450,000+.
