The Department of Economics and Finance is a significant part of the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences. The Department has more than 30 full-time members of staff and approximately 800 students. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), the Department’s research output was rated in the top 20 by research intensity by the Economics and Econometrics panel. The Department offers research and teaching opportunities in Accounting, Banking, Finance and Economics.

To support the development of a new BSc Banking and Finance, complementing our existing MSc in Banking and Finance, applications are sought from any research area in Banking. An interest in teaching in areas such as Banking Economics, Housing Finance and/or Micro and Macroprudential Regulation is desirable. Applicants should hold a PhD and have a strong research profile as well as possess high quality teaching experience.

Excellent support in terms of computer and data facilities, including Fitch-Connect, as well as the opportunity for funding for conferences and other direct research costs are provided to members of staff.
