Senior Lecturer in Manufacturing and Engineering Design

Salary: £38,833 - £49,149 pa dependent on skills and experience

Grade: UH8

FTE: 1.0 FTE, working 37 hours per week

Duration of Contract: 2 year Fixed Term Contract

Due to the expansion of the University of Hertfordshire’s Degree Apprenticeships programme, this exciting new post in the School of Engineering and Technology offers the opportunity for an individual with industrial experience to play a key role in the development and delivery of the School’s Engineering Degree Apprenticeship programmes.

Working with a wide range of stakeholders, the successful candidate will be engaging with employers and other academic staff to assist the recruitment and support of engineering apprentices and contributing to the delivery of modules related to Engineering Design and Manufacturing Processes.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Supporting the development of new engineering degree apprenticeship programmes and participating in quality assurance processes.
  • Creating and maintaining good relationships with employers within industry in order to assist the recruitment of engineering degree apprentices.
  • Teaching and supporting students in the field of Engineering Design and Manufacturing Processes.

Skills and experience needed

Applicants will need significant experience and expertise in Manufacturing and Design within an engineering environment in addition to Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience of teaching and curriculum review and development will be advantageous.

Qualifications required

Good honours degree in an engineering or related discipline.
