Research Associate in Mobile Sensing

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,635 - £37,551 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

This position will be based in the Centre for Transport studies which is part of the Civil, Environmental and Geomatic  Engineering Department within the Faculty of Engineering.

The post holder will be the main researcher on a project entitled Understanding near miss reporting to develop a lead indicator for cycling safety and a tool for evaluating interventions.

The post is to commence on 1 April or ASAP and is for 21 months in the 1st instance

The post holder will need to have to knowledge of mobile sensing technologies to report cycling near misses involving user input, sensing, localisation & web-based collection platforms.  They will hold a PhD in computer science or a related discipline. They must  have excellent interpersonal skill and communication skills. An interest in cycling and road safety would be an advantage.
