This is an exciting opportunity to join a strategically important team. You will contribute to Aston’s mission, exploitable research, employable graduates, by supporting the Careers+Placements team’s activities in working with students from their first year at University.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our busy but friendly team, to facilitate and support a greater proportion of our first year students in securing a variety of work experience opportunities, through engagement communications and the delivery of key employability related initiatives. Reporting to a Careers Consultant (and with a dotted line to the Head of Careers), you will have responsibility for raising awareness of the Careers+Placements services to students to stimulate and increase demand as well as delivering student preparation activities including insights into recruitment and selection, application technique sessions and skills development workshops. Early encouragement and preparation for placement applications will also be integral to the role. 

An important part of this role is to work closely with other departments and all Schools of Study to design and implement an integrated, responsive and flexible activity programme that will support students’, during their first year at University.

Educated to A level or equivalent, you will need to enjoy working under pressure and achieving targets. This is a hands-on role that requires an enthusiastic and innovative individual. You must be able to think on your feet, work independently but also as part of a team with ability to enthuse and inspire students.
