Research Associate

The School of Healthcare Sciences is seeking to appoint a Research Associate to conduct research within maternity care. The role holder will contribute to the overall research performance of the School carrying out research leading to the publishing of work in high-quality journals.
 
Applicants will require an established expertise and proven portfolio of research and/or relevant NHS experience within the research field of midwifery and maternal and reproductive health. The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree at PhD level in a related subject area or relevant NHS experience.

The postholder will work with Professor Julia Sanders and with colleagues in the School of Healthcare Sciences, Cardiff University and across other organisations to expand and develop programmes of research. The postholder will have the opportunity to work with an existing study team working to determine the safety of waterbirth for mothers and babies and will be able initiate and contribute to research priority-setting and grant applications in this area.

The post is part-time at 17.5 hours per week (0.50 FTE) and is fixed-term for 12 months
 
Salary: £32,548 - £38,833 per annum, pro-rata for hours worked (Grade 6).  It is not anticipated that an appointment be made above Point 34, £36,613 per annum.
