Applications are invited for a Research Fellow/Project Officer to work within the School of Chemistry, to coordinate the research and support the activities of the Organic Chemistry research group of Professor David Leigh FRS.

You should also hold a PhD degree in synthetic organic or supramolecular chemistry and have postdoctoral experience.

Working in a team, you will have a strong background in supramolecular or synthetic organic chemistry, an excellent publication record in high quality peer-reviewed journals, and have excellent analytical and problem solving abilities. You will be responsible for coordinating and carrying out internationally leading research in the field of supramolecular and organic chemistry and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running and operation of the Leigh group.

The Leigh group is one of the world leaders in supramolecular chemistry and the design and construction of synthetic molecular machine systems. Over the past few years they have produced some of the first examples—all be they primitive by biological standards—of synthetic molecular motors and machines For further information about the research group see webpage www.catenane.net.
