Programme Leader in MSc Sport Management/ MSc International Sport Management – UCFB Wembley Campus

UCFB is currently located in two state-of-the-art iconic and inspiring locations. UCFB Wembley is located within Wembley Stadium, spiritual home of English football and sports. Our second campus is located at the world-class facilities of the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. These premier locations provide UCFB students with a unique student experience to live, learn and work within the football and sports industry during their studies.

Due to our continued growth, we are looking to appoint a lecturer with the expertise to contextualise events management to support our programmes in the football and sports industries.

The Role

The primary role of a Programme Leader is to effectively manage a specified programme of study and designated module leaders. The successful candidate will lead our MSc Sport Management programme. They will be accountable to the Head/ Assistant Head of Academics at the campus where they are based.

Key Tasks

  • To manage the MSc Sport Management/MSc International Sport Management degrees, and complete relevant quality assurance documents, relating to student feedback, moderation of assessments, and validation, as required by UCFB’s awarding bodies, and assist the Heads/Assistant Head of Academics to manage staff teaching on the MSc programmes
  • To manage academic provision at overseas partnerships linked to the MSc programmes
  • To teach on designated modules and programme of study as the Head / Assistant Head of Academics may specify
  • Maintain academic standards and adhere to the programme and module specifications
  • Design and deliver teaching materials at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including contributing to the curriculum review and enhancement, in a manner that supports and focuses on student learning outcomes
  • Undertake student assessments and examination activities including the provision of appropriate feedback to students
  • Engage in continuous professional development
  • To participate in the department seminars aimed at knowledge sharing and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department
  • Be responsible for the pastoral care of students within a specified area
  • Achieve key academic performance indicators, attendance, retention and achievement

Working hours: Working hours normally 8.30 am - 5pm but may involve additional and unsocial working hours depending on the nature of the event and occasional travel between campus.

What we’re looking for

  • Undergraduate degree and Master’s degrees in disciplines relevant to Sport Management
  • Two or more years teaching and learning experience in a UK Higher Education Institution
  • Ability to teach two or more of the following areas: Leadership, Management, Finance, Research Methods
  • Ability to contextualise Sport Management for sports business and related disciplines at Level 7
  • Ability to provide a high quality student learning experience (e.g. via large group sessions, small group sessions, supervision & pastoral support
  • Ability to implement quality assurance processes
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and busy environment to meet set goals
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
